Sony India Launches VAIO X Series Notebooks

Sony has launched the “world’s lightest” notebooks with the VAIO X Series.
The VPCX113KG model weighs 655 gms with 3.5 hours battery life and 14 Hrs Optional LL battery.
It also features:
• 64 GB SSD
• Intel Atom Processor Z540 (1.86 GHz, HT Technology supported)
• Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit)
• 11.1 (28.2 cm) wide (WXGA: 1366 x 768) ; VAIO Display Premium, LED backlight
• Integrated Wireless LAN IEEE 802.11b/g/Draft n
The VPCX117LG model weighs 760 gms with 6.5 hours battery life and 16 Hrs Optional LL Battery.
It also features:
•128 GB SSD
• Intel Atom Processor Z550 (2 GHz, HT Technology supported)
• Genuine Windows 7 Professional (32-bit)
• 11.1 (28.2 cm) wide (WXGA: 1366 x 768) ; VAIO Display Premium, LED backlight

The X Series touch pad uses multi-touch functionality allowing users to zoom in and out, flip through pictures, rotate items and scroll vertically and horizontally without touching a mouse.
The VAIO X VPCX113KG and VPCX117LG costs Rs. 64,990 and Rs. 84,990 respectively.
LG’s Scarlet 2.0 Series Features Bluetooth

LG Electronics India has announced the launch of Scarlet 2.0 series of LCD televisions in the country. In addition to a slimmer design (39.7 mm slim), the new Scarlet series comes Bluetooth compatibility. So, with this, one can listen to TV with a wireless headset, or view mobile phone photos and MP3 songs on TV.
Another USP claimed by LG is the In-Plane Switching Panel Technology (IPS), which offers higher quality. Scarlet 2.0 series from LG is available in TruMotion 100Hz full high definition format in 47-inch, 42-inch and 32-inch screen size. The Scarlet 2.0 range offers a dynamic contrast ratio of 100000:1, plus it is DivX USB 2.0 enabled.
The MRP is Rs. 99,990 for the 47-inch model, Rs. 79,990 for the 42-inch model and Rs. 49,990 for the 32-inch model.

Sony Ericsson Launches Two New Walkman Mobile Phone Handsets

Sony Ericsson has just added two more handsets to their popular Walkman range of music handsets. The new handsets – W205 and W395 are both of the slider variety which seems to be SE’s forte.
At the launch of the new phones, Sudhin Mathur, General Manager, Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications India said, “Being the pioneer in the music phone category, our ‘Walkman’ phone range has universally been lauded for the quality music experience offered. The basic premise behind the launch of the affordable Sony Ericsson W205 and W305 Walkman phones is to further extend this experience to those who love portable music but have never had the Walkman phone experience.”
The W205 will enable users to share the handset with family and friends and still maintain a certain privacy level with its multiple phonebook feature that lets up to four users create personalized contact lists that are kept separate. The lower end W205 Walkman phone also features:
- a 1.8-inch display sporting a 128 x 160 resolution and 65K colors
- GPRS/EDGE
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- FM radio with recording
- TrackID
- Bluetooth
- M2 card support
The second handset the W395 Walkman is slightly more higher ended than the W205 with features like:
- a 2 inch TFT LCD with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels and 256K colors
- support for GPRS/EDGE
- Bluetooth with A2DP
- built-in stereo speakers
- Motion gaming support
- FM radio
- TrackID and PlayNow

The W205 comes with HPM-64 Bass Reflex headphones and the W395 has the HPM-62 stereo headset and are priced at Rs. 5,795 and Rs. 8,395 (MRP) respectively. Both handsets are also bundled with 1GB memory cards.
Sony Launches W Series Vaio Netbook in India

Sony’s entry into the netbook market the VAIO W Series mini notebook has been launched in India.
The W models come in three colors – berry pink, sugar white and cocoa brown – incorporating a 1366 x 768, LED backlit 10.1-inch (measured diagonally) ultra-wide display, isolated keyboard, built-in webcam and microphone, 160GB hard drive and comes pre-installed with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition operating system. Built into every model is a VAIO Multimedia Suite, a collection of video and photo editing tools that make it easy to create high-quality home movies, slideshows and more. It features built-in Wi-Fi and comes with VAIO Media plus Multimedia Streaming software, a media sharing application that lets users wirelessly stream content across DLNA(R)-enabled devices throughout the home network. Users can also stream video music and pictures from their W Series to their compatible primary PC or PS3 and vice-versa.
Users can easily transfer data, such as photos from a digital camera or music from an MP3 player, to and from the PC with the unit’s two USB ports. Incorporated Bluetooth technology enables wireless peripherals to be utilized.
The VAIO W Series mini notebook will retail for Rs. 29,990 at all Sony Center stores and retail partners across the country.




Sony Ericsson’s Vivaz Announced
Sony Ericsson has announced the Vivaz that follows on from the Xperia X10 announced in November 2009, and is the second phone in the new family of communication entertainment phones coming to market in the first half of 2010. Sony Ericsson Vivaz will come to market in Q1 2010.
The Vivaz has high quality HD video allowing consumers to produce and broadcast their experiences with the latest video capture and sharing features.
The open platform also allows users to personalise their entertainment experience by downloading great applications through PlayNow and the Symbian Developer Community.
Sony Ericsson Vivaz features the new design philosophy ’human curvature’, first introduced with the Xperia X10, which will become a consistent feature of Sony Ericsson’s portfolio.
