Viewsonic Announces New Laptops, AIO

ViewSonic has announced the commercial availability of three new mobile and desktop PC products, ViewSonic VNB132 and VNB141 ViewBooks and ViewSonic VPC190 All-in-One, previewed at CES 2010.

“Our new mobile and desktop PC products truly speak to our green computing initiative,” said Sally Wang, ViewSonic’s senior director of product marketing. “Whether it’s the energy-efficient processors, sleek plastic saving designs, or minimized use of cables and other excessive materials, our ULV notebooks and All-in-One PCs are the smarter solution.”

The ViewSonic 14″ VNB141 ViewBook offers the latest ULV SU7300 Intel Core 2 Duo processor, Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, 2GB of RAM and 250GB hard drive.

Built for students and people on the move, the laptop provides full functionality and connectivity with two USB ports, integrated 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity, VGA and HDMI outputs. The VNB141 also includes a 1.3MB built-in webcam, long-lasting 6 cell battery and integrated DVD RW Super Multi Drive.

ViewSonic’s thin and lightweight 13.3″ VNB132 ViewBook offers the latest ULV SU2300 Intel Celeron processor and Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.

Additionally, this device features a 320GB hard drive and 2GB internal memory. Also built for those on the move, this notebook features integrated 802.11b/g/n wireless, three USB ports, a 7-in-1 card reader, VGA and HDMI outputs, an integrated 1.3MB webcam and a 4 cell battery.

The ViewSonic ViewBook VNB141 and VNB132 are currently available for respective MSRPs of $829 and $649.

Also shipping today is the eco-friendly VPC190 All-in-One PC. With a clean, ergonomic design this 19″ (18.5″ viewable) PC features the latest Intel Atom D510 1.6Hz processor with Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, 2GB of internal memory, 1366×768 screen, built-in 1.3MB webcam, 2×3-watt speakers, integrated 10/100 Ethernet and 802.11b/g wireless, six USB 2.0 ports, a 4-in-1 card reader and built-in DVD RW Super Multi drive.

The ViewSonic VPC190 All-in-One PC is currently available for an MSRP of $629.

Multitouch Eee PC With Swiveling LCD

You want a netbook but, for some strange reason, are hankering after one that is also a tablet. Well look no further, here we have a convertible Eee PC that is said to pack Intel’s Pine Trail chip.

French language site, Blogeee, reports that this little baby will see an April release and is confident that there will be no delays. While the specifications are not yet solid, Blogee says we can expect a 10.1-inch backlit, 1024×600, LED display (resistive multitouch), the Atom N450, a choice of either 1GB of 2GB of DDR2 and up to 320 GB of storage (along with 500GB of Asus WebStorage). Both the RAM and storage depend on which version of Windows 7 you want (Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic or Windows 7 Home Premium).

The multitouch Eee PC also boasts 3 x USB 2.0 ports, VGA, a multicard reader, the obligatory 0.3 megapixel webcam, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 802.11b/g/n and will be available in black or white.

Transcend Introduces Slim Portable CD/ DVD Writer

Transcend has introduced its first portable CD/DVD writer, a slim and stylish choice to go with the new size zero theme. The CD/DVD writer comes bundled with a full-featured copy of CyberLink Power2Go, and also includes a bonus 30-day trial version of CyberLink’s MediaShow. With these software tools, users can burn music, data, video and bootable discs in a variety of CD and DVD formats, including CD-R/RW, DVD±R, DVD±RW, DVD±R DL, and DVD-RAM, also compile, arrange, and produce media files with a simple and straightforward software interface.

Toshiba Launches Laptops Pre-loaded With Windows 7

Toshiba has rolled out its flagship Consumer and Commercial models pre-loaded with Windows 7 Operating System.

Toshiba’s range of Notebook PCs feature high definition (HD) CSV screens, LED display, multi-touch control panel, power saving Eco-Utility, higher battery life, new patterns, 3D HDD protection, Fingerprint recognition and Face recognition using HD Auto macro integrated wide angle web-camera.

Toshiba Notebook PCs are now available in all screen sizes from 10.1-inch to 16-inch including Tablet PC models.

For all existing customers, the company has also introduced a free upgrade offer program from Vista to Windows 7. Toshiba provides International Limited Warranty on all models including parts and labour.

The Portege M900-D3212 comes with leather texture finish and is available in Luxe Brown. It is equipped with a 13.3-inch Wide High Definition (HD) Screen with Clear Super View (CSV) technology and Nvidia Graphics Controller with 512MB of dedicated Video memory.

The Satellite M500-D4311 has a Champage Gold Aero design, a 14-inch Wide LED backlit flush screen and a chrome border that encompasses not just the Notebook PC but also the Touchpad console, speaker grills and hinges. This notebook also comes with a backlit keyboard that allows the user to work comfortably even in dark areas and during night. Western Digital Introduces WD TV LIVE HD Media Player

Western Digital has introduced the WD TV Live HD media player featuring network capability and Full-HD 1080p resolution. The new WD TV Live HD media player makes it possible for anyone to play HD videos stored on USB and network drives, as well as Internet content from popular Web sites. The GUI is also souped up, with Video preview being new candy.

The network capability of the WD TV Live media player enables users to stream or transfer movies from PC or Mac computers or a network-attached storage device. The WD TV Live media player also allows users to stream rich content from YouTube, Flickr and Pandora.

“The media enthusiast community has embraced the first WD TV HD media player and given us tremendous feedback,” said Sharad Srivastava, Director, Director India and South Asia, Western Digital. “With the new WD TV Live media player we’re giving them what they asked for — network connectivity and Internet-content streaming capabilities — and offering them a simple way to enjoy all of their digital media and enjoy it on their HD TVs.”
